Her PLAN Launches Pathways Platform
Her PLAN released a brand-new Pathways platform designed to help every day pro-lifers — from churches and community businesses to local leaders and dedicated volunteers — find their place in the pro-life safety net.
Pathways catalogues step-by-step models of care inspired by real action and real needs in communities across the country. Each model addresses a need abortion-vulnerable women have, how communities stepped up to meet that need, and the simplified steps to take to replicate the model. Models span all seven categories of care and vary in complexity so everyone can get involved — students, full-time employees, families, church groups, and more.
Example models include hosting a community car maintenance day, opening a mobile medical center, donating to a transportation fund, hosting financial education classes, and more. With Pathways, communities no longer have to wonder where to start to meet the needs abortion-vulnerable women in their community have and help them sustain their choice for life. Pathways simplifies your search for how to serve. We’ve done the research and identified the experts and models to give practical, step-by-step ideas of how local communities can step up to meet her needs. In 2020, Her PLAN originated the pro-life safety net construct. This framework reflects reasons why women seek abortion and allows the pro-life movement to respond to her needs with comprehensive support that meets her specific needs. With seven categories of care, every individual has an opportunity to support abortion-vulnerable moms and their babies, regardless of their skill or occupation. A local mechanic can offer pro bono or reduced rate services at a community car maintenance day. A Scout troop or high school class can pack care boxes for parents with children in the NICU.
Everyone has a place in the pro-life safety net, and Pathways is the place to find it.
Her PLAN’s work responds to the reality that 60% of women who had an abortion would not have if they had received more material or emotional support. Providing this needed support allows women to make the choice they want to make — the choice for life and the choice to become the mom they want to be. Her PLAN also responds to the growing and dangerous prevalence of abortion drugs which now constitute 63% of abortions in America. When Her Community walks beside her with the support she needs, she can sustain her daily resolve for life despite the looming threat of the drugs in her boyfriend’s sock drawer or her neighbor’s medicine cabinet.
