FAITH AND LAW: Why are there more abortions after Dobbs? Gen Z and the Pro-life Future

Her PLAN Executive Director Autumn Christensen recently spoke at Faith and Law’s Friday Forum about the challenges and opportunities facing the pro-life movement in a post-Dobbs era.

With over 1 million abortions happening every year, Gen Z has a unique opportunity to meet the modern systemic pressure to abort with authentic and supportive relationships.  By meeting the wide availability of abortion drugs, a dangerous and isolating threat to any abortion-vulnerable woman, with a community of wrap-around support, the counter-cultural choice for life becomes possible. 60% of women said they wouldn’t have chosen abortion if they had more emotional or financial support. Building up a pro-life safety net of community support and resources is essential for creating a culture of life and a future where abortion is unthinkable.
