Pro-Life Safety Net

The life-affirming safety net is Her PLAN's organizing framework — the belief that every woman facing an unexpected pregnancy deserves a community ready to meet her whole need, not just part of it.

What is the Pro-life Safety Net?

The pro-life safety net is Her PLAN’s organizing framework — the belief that every woman facing an unexpected pregnancy deserves a community ready to meet her whole need, not just part of it.

It is the full network of organizations already in your community: pregnancy centers, maternity homes, churches, shelters, food pantries, addiction recovery programs, legal aid providers, and childcare organizations. Together they are strong enough to hold her not just at the moment of decision, but through every day that follows.

No single organization can meet every need. The pro-life safety net is what happens when they work together. Her PLAN makes that possible through the Her PLAN directory, connecting communities to over 8,000 vetted, life-affirming providers across 29 states.

A strong safety net ensures that women are not left to navigate complex needs alone.

Seven Categories of Care

Her PLAN organizes the pro-life safety net into seven categories of care built around the real, layered needs women face during pregnancy and early parenting. Each category represents a dimension of her life that affects whether she can sustain her decision for life. Every category is searchable in the Her PLAN directory.

The Tools That Make It Real

The pro-life safety net exists in every community. Her PLAN puts it to work through three tools built for the organizations already serving her.

Two women sit at a table in conversation; one faces the camera smiling and wearing red glasses and a white sweater, while the other is seen from behind. Other people and objects are visible in the blurred background.

Her Community

The pro-life safety net looks different in every community. Her Community coalitions bring together public officials, charities, ministries, businesses, and individuals at the local level to assess what support already exists and identify where gaps remain. This work often leads to launching new resources or strengthening programs that are under-resourced and in high demand.

Together, we build Her Community

When organizations work independently, women fall through the gaps. You may not know about the housing program three miles away. Your client may leave your office with one referral when she needed five. The resource you send her to may have changed or closed.

Her PLAN strengthens the pro-life safety net by making it visible, verified, and coordinated across all seven categories of care.

Together, we build Her Community, so she and her baby can thrive.
