As the Schumer shutdown continues, moms who rely on WIC or SNAP benefits face a sudden financial blow. Many may wonder how they will cover the cost of food, diapers, baby formula, and groceries for themselves and their children. Did you know 60% of women who have an abortion already have children at home? Sadly, concerns for those children’s wellbeing often leads pregnant women to consider an abortion.
Baby formula is one of the primary goods families rely on through WIC and many states have diapers included in WIC as well. The nearly 3,000 pregnancy centers nationwide offer free diapers and material support items like grocery gift cards to vulnerable moms. Food pantries across the country supply needed food staples and baby formula. With the potential for these organizations to see more moms and families in the coming weeks, donations of diapers, food, baby formula, and grocery gift cards are all the more essential.
That’s where YOU come in. You can be part of the pro-life safety net by donating food, baby formula, or grocery gift cards. Together with local food pantries and pregnancy centers, we can stand in the gap to help vulnerable moms.
Here’s how you can help:

- Decide how you want to help: donate food, baby formula, size 3-6 diapers, or grocery gift cards.
- Use the Her PLAN Directory to find your local pregnancy center or food pantry. Call them to offer support, ask if they have any specific needs for moms on WIC or SNAP and schedule a time to drop off your donation. If you don’t find local resources on the Her PLAN Directory, use Option Line or Pregnancy Decision Line to find a pregnancy resource near you.
